Senator Roxanne J. Persaud Hosts Informational Webinar on REAL ID and Enhanced ID with NYS DMV

Brooklyn, NY – On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, Senator Roxanne J. Persaud hosted a live informational webinar in collaboration with New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Assistant Commissioner Pat Curry. The virtual event, held at 6:00 PM, focused on helping New Yorkers better understand the REAL ID and Enhanced ID requirements ahead of the upcoming federal deadline.

During the webinar, participants learned about the key differences between REAL ID and Enhanced ID, the documents required to obtain them, and the impact these forms of identification will have on domestic air travel after the May 7, 2025 deadline.

"This was an important opportunity to ensure our community has the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the new ID requirements with confidence," said Senator Persaud. "With the deadline approaching, we want every New Yorker to be informed and prepared."

Assistant Commissioner Curry provided detailed guidance on how to apply for a REAL ID or Enhanced ID, how to gather the necessary documents, and answered several frequently asked questions from attendees.
